Will medication change who I am? Are multiple medications better than one? Are there specific medications for bipolar disorder that work best for children, young adults, pregnant women or the elderly?

If these questions or others have occurred to you, we would like to hear from you. We invite you to participate as a patient expert or patient partner in our focus group, in which we would like to explore.

“What treatment related questions matter most to bipolar disorder patients and their families?”

Participate in research to help transform the understanding and treatment of bipolar disorder.  Join a half-day focus group that asks you, “what do you wish you had known in the past that could have helped you in managing your disease or the disease of your loved one(s)”.

The study is funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to the University of  New Mexico.

If selected for the study you will be paid for your participation.

From playwright Josh Adell comes a new play performed by high school students to help raise awareness about mental health.  Its powerful impact is something NAMI Westside LA wants to bring to every high school in the city and around the country.

Josh’s personal mission is to inspire the national conversation about teenage mental illness in order to erase the stigma and promote positive self-expression. Bravo, Josh, for taking it upon yourself to make change happen in a community which so desperately needs it.
